  • Who reviews the information I submit to Counsel MD?
    The persona healthl information you sumit to Counsel MD is reviewed by doctors (MD/DO), pharmacists (PharmD), and other specialitis depending on the plan you select.
  • How do I insert my medical records (doctor's notes, labs, imaging etc) in my submission?"
    Once you select a plan, you can insert your medical notes, lab results, imaging results etc directly in the form you will submit to us. Please be sure that these files are legible and complete in nature.
  • My doctor's notes are very confusing/difficult to understand. How can Counsel MD help?
    Physician notes are designed for two major purposes: physician-to-physician communication using medical terminology and billing for medical services to insurance companies. Unfortunately, neither of those are patient-friendly and are almost guaranteed to create more confusion. Counsel MD attempts to de-mystify these notes and give you a simpler understanding of what is likely being said in your records.
  • I went to an Urgent Care / Doctor's Office and was not able to be seen by a doctor (MD/DO). I am still have the same symptoms - can Counsel MD help?
    Yes! You may select one of our plans once you have your records to upload and we will do our best to provide you clinical insights into your visit/symptoms.
  • Why do you ask for my Primar Insurance Company name if you do not bill insurnace?
    Correct, we do not bill your insurance. However, we ask for your health insurance company to share with you any features of your insurance plan you may not unaware of that could benefit you. It may also help us identify healthcare access limitations you might have depending on your insurance.
  • I do not have a diagnosis yet but have had certain symptoms for a long time - which plan do I select?
    In case you have not received a formal diagnosis, you may select Plan A and write your "main symptoms or chief complaint" as your diagnosis. You can also apply this to other plans. Note that in Plans B through D, you can only substitute the first diagnosis for a "main symptoms or chief complaint"
  • How long does Counsel MD take to send me my report?
    Our first priority is quality. For Plan Q, A, and B, we aim to send your report within 5 business days. Plans C and D are more thorough and utilize more resources and input from multiple healthcare professionals - these may take upto 14 business days to return.
  • How do I contact you?
    Feel free to email us at support@counselmd.com. We will try to respond to your requests as soon as possible.
  • Is Counsel MD platform HIPAA compliant?
    Yes, your form submission and data storage are conducted with only HIPAA-complaint software of the highest standards. We take data security very seriously.
  • How does Counsel MD handle data security?
    We do not sell your data. Not for any type of leverage or any monetary benefits like many other healthcare companies. Your data is yours. We store it and may use it for internal purposes as outlined in our privacy policies.
  • Do you cover all specialties and age groups?
    Currently, we offer expert review within the adult age group covering most general specialties. For now, we do not cover pediatric topics.
